Cotswolds Re-Visited

Works are due to start on a major extension at a Sainsburys store in Stroud, Gloucestershire.

It was in 1992 that Keller first worked on the original store installing vibro stone columns beneath the floor and pad foundations together with a contiguous bored pile wall to retain the access road on this tricky confined and sloping site.Beneath the new extension works an array of services means that the cheaper vibro approach is not practical and so it will be founded on some 140 No continuous flight auger piles which will be bored in to the sandstone at depth. The 46 No internal piles will be undertaken by Keller Geotechnique in the limited headroom of the store using a Klemm minipile rig.

With both rigs on site in mid July it will be a busy site at this Cotwold Sainsburys.
